- Preparation is Key: Perform a strand test and sensitivity patch test. Apply a protective base cream to the scalp and hairline. Section dry, un-shampooed hair into four quadrants.
- Precise Application: Following instructions, mix the relaxer (if required). Apply the relaxer cream quickly and evenly to un-relaxed hair, starting from the back. Smooth hair gently with the back of a comb or your gloved fingers, ensuring not to over-process.
- Rinse & Neutralize: After the recommended processing time, rinse hair thoroughly with warm water until all traces of relaxer are removed. Immediately follow with a neutralising shampoo to restore pH balance.
- Conditioning & Post-Relaxer Care: Apply a deep conditioning treatment from the Affirm care range to replenish moisture. Rinse and style as desired. Regular conditioning is vital for maintaining healthy relaxed hair.
